Job description

Animals Like Us is searching for a savvy Commercial Finance Manager who’s more than just a numbers person! We need a quick-thinking, solutions-focused all-rounder who doesn’t get bogged down in the details!

We’re scaling fast and taking lessons learnt in NZ and Australia to the US.
This is a key role on our leadership team that will work closely with the CEO & Co-founder, our heads of Sales and Operations for ANZ and our US-based Sales, Operations and Marketing leads. You will lead our finance function, delivering financial insights whilst overseeing financial planning, NZ, AUS and USA tax and risk, and playing a central role in aligning operations with business growth. You’ll also coach and mentor an NZ-based Accountant.

What You Bring:

1. A proven commercial edge: You don’t just report numbers; you translate them into strategy.
2. Fluid working style: Agile, adaptable and down to earth.
3. Robust conversations: You know how to challenge, persuade, and guide at an executive level.
4. Modelling capability: You can take a brief and quickly build high-level financial models to support go/no go decision making!

You need to have experience in a senior finance role within FMCG or a high-growth environment and if you have worked in a business with a US presence, this will be an advantage.
