Job summary

Recruitnz is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our Manawatū team in Palmerston North. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of commercial electrical equipment used in kitchen and laundry settings.

The role involves on-site service calls, workshop repairs, and compliance checks, with training to broaden knowledge of commercial systems. We value independent work, mentoring apprentices, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Hold a current EWRB practising licence.
• Hold a clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Have at least three years of relevant work experience in electrical servicing or appliance repair.
• Be competent working independently and mentoring apprentices.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Be trustworthy, reliable, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial electrical equipment, including kitchen and laundry appliances.
• Attending on-site service calls and performing in-workshop repairs.
• Completing electrical compliance checks and maintaining accurate service records.
• Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Working independently and as part of a tight-knit team.
• Training will be provided to broaden knowledge of specific commercial systems and machinery.
