Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island Limited is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our Gilmours/foodservice analytics team in New Zealand. You will focus on delivering financial analysis, data interpretation, modelling and reporting to support key strategic projects within category management.

You'll bring experience with SAP and COGNOS, strong Excel skills, and the ability to transform large numbers into actionable insights for our buying and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Commercially savvy with experience and SAP/COGNOS knowledge to support process flow and system integration.
• Strong Excel skills and analytics experience in FMCG/retail or wholesale.
• Proactive, inquisitive, and able to push boundaries to reveal business insights.

Te Tūranga – About The Role

Working closely with our Buying Leads, you will be focused on delivery of financial analysis, data interpretation, modelling & reporting supporting one of Gilmours key strategic projects! Rolling up your sleeves, you will be submerged into the world of category management which will see you providing crucial analysis of our current buying position for categories and suppliers to our buying team.

You Will Be Focused On And Delivering

• Insights from the Customer-Driven project including range optimisation, pricing, data cleansing and integrity for decision making
• Support for the buying lead team with negotiation strategy and targets
• Measurement and reporting of the impact of changes to our Members and Leadership team
• Enhancement of reporting capabilities using the BI toolset for more accurate and actionable insights
• Tracking project milestones and ensuring alignment with business objectives

There will also be the opportunity to enhance your project management skillset working on a variety of support tasks during project implementation.

He Kōrero Mōu - About You

Commercially savvy with a few years of experience you will bring strong system skills–SAP&COGNOS knowledge with a natural ability for process flow and system integration knowledge.

We need strong excel skills and experience in an analytics-based role ideally within FMCG or Retail or wholesale which demonstrates analytics and insight. Numerical at heart – you will love the big numbers and transforming this into insights the business can truly understand and act upon.

You will have a proactive and inquisitive nature with the desire to continually push boundaries and delve deeper. Curious, loves to ask questions and challenge the status quo is what we seek in our Commercial Analyst!
