Job summary

Caffe L’affare in Wellington is seeking a coffee roaster for a fixed-term role through to the end of January 2027. You’ll focus on production roasting and support blends, loading green coffee, and cupping.

Ideal candidates have roasting experience, a passion for coffee, and a collaborative mindset. Role runs 40 hours a week, 8:00 am–4:30 pm at Mt Cook site, with start mid-September preferred.

About the role:

We’re looking for a coffee roaster to join our close-knit team on a fixed-term basis through to the end of January 2027. You’ll play a key role in our production team, with a primary focus on production roasting, while also supporting a range of activities including making up blends, loading green coffee, maintaining roasting plant and equipment, and coffee cupping.

About you:

You’re passionate about coffee, with a genuine interest in the art and science of roasting, and bring previous roasting experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in delivering quality and consistency in every batch. With a proactive and curious mindset, you’re eager to learn, adapt to new techniques and technology, and contribute to the success of our roasting operations.

This is a fixed term opportunity until end Jan 27, working 40 hours per week 8am - 4.30pm, at our Mt Cook site.

We'd ideally like someone to start mid-September.
