Job summary

PERSOL is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join a skilled team in Mount Maunganui and Christchurch. You will own jobs from start to finish, with autonomy to set up and run components to tight tolerances.

The role offers modern workshop facilities and opportunities for variety across plastics, composites, and metals, with a supportive team and ongoing technical challenges in a growing New Zealand business.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Machining, Fitting & Turning, Toolmaking or similar.
• Strong CNC milling and turning experience.
• Proven CNC programming experience.
• Experience using CAM software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of jobs.

Responsibilities

• CNC programming, setup and operation
• CNC milling, turning and routing
• CAM programming
• Precision machining of engineering plastics
• Some composite and metal machining
• Jobbing and small-batch manufacturing
• Producing high-quality components to tight tolerances
• Developing machining strategies from customer drawings and CAD models
• Designing fixtures and workholding solutions when required
• Quality checking and producing first-off components
