Vulcan in Christchurch, NZ is hiring a CNC Plasma Machine Operator for a permanent on-site role on a Monday–Friday morning shift (6:00am–2:30pm). The position involves operating Kinetic K2000 plasma cutting machines, handling steel plates, and supporting quality checks.

Qualifications

• CNC plasma, laser, or machine operating experience required.
• Experience handling steel, plate, or heavy materials.
• Overhead crane or forklift experience preferred.
• Full Class 1 licence required; F endorsement is an advantage.
• Good understanding of quality checks and safe machine operation.
• Able to work unsupervised and be safety-focused.
• Physically fit, dependable and able to pass pre-employment checks.
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Operate Kinetic K2000 CNC plasma cutting machines.
• Use overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment safely.
• Load and unload steel plates and finished parts.
• Check cut quality and complete quality checks.
• Label, sort, and process cut parts.
• Assist with routine machine maintenance.
• Keep machines running with minimal downtime.
