Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Mt. Wellington, Auckland is seeking a CNC Operator to prioritise and execute work to meet hourly and daily targets. You will read design drawings, program CNC machines and adjust settings to maintain efficiency and quality.

You will set machines for full cycles, monitor performance, perform basic troubleshooting, and maintain daily machine care, while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC operator in manufacturing, preferably wood/metal.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and customer drawings.
• Experience programming CNC machines and CAD/CAM.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate the CNC machines to perform required tasks such as routing, profiling, folding, cutting.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading customer drawings, mechanical drawings etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Resolve any discrepancies with project specific shop drawings to ensure that all products are fit for purpose.
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate any numbers of parts.
• Monitor the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
• Create and implement routine maintenance checklists and perform basic troubleshooting when required.
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
• Maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
• Maintain a “Duty of Care” in relation to Workplace Health & Safety and Environment. Ensure that procedures are followed, guarding is in place and that any unsafe work practices are actioned and reported to Management.
