Job summary

Vulcan is hiring at Plates Auckland for a hands-on CNC laser/plasma operator role in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment. Morning shift, Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm, offering permanent hours.

You will operate CNC laser and plasma cutting machines, use overhead gantry cranes to position steel plates, and ensure quality and safety standards are met while supporting production processes.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser/plasma cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurements.
• High attention to detail with quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser and plasma cutting machines.
• Operate overhead gantry cranes to position steel plates.
• Set up and feed product into machines for processing.
• Load and unload steel materials and finished parts.
• Monitor cut quality and maintain production standards.
• Assist with routine machine maintenance to keep machines running efficiently.
• Work safely, both independently and as part of a team.
