Job summary

Meridian Energy is hiring a Cloud Data Platform Engineer to manage the Azure Databricks platform and its Azure infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability and availability by design. You will deliver platform capability as code for data and AI workloads to be built and run safely.

The role emphasizes 5+ years in cloud platform engineering, strong IaC and DevOps practice, and ownership of platform standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering and operating cloud platforms in production.
• Azure depth: networking, identity, storage, Key Vault and monitoring.
• Infra-as-code and DevOps: Terraform, source control, CI/CD as default.
• Experience with shared platforms used by multiple teams; balance autonomy with guardrails.
• Technical ownership: set direction and standards and be accountable for outcomes.
• Security and governance: access models, network isolation, secrets, audit.
• Azure Databricks or similar data platform experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering, operation and administration of Meridian's Azure Databricks platform and supporting Azure infrastructure.
• Ensure the platform is secure, reliable and available by design.
• Deliver platform capability as code so teams can run data/AI workloads safely.
• Own platform direction, standards and outcomes.
• Collaborate across teams to balance autonomy with guardrails.
