We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

As a Clinical Product Coordinator, you'll be at the centre of how clinical products are introduced, evaluated, and managed across the health system. Acting as the bridge between suppliers, Procurement, Supply Chain, Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM), and Health NZ's clinical services, you will ensure products are safe, effective, and deliver best value for patients and staff.

This role has real system-wide impact. You will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the evaluation and introduction of new clinical products in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Manage product alerts and recalls, identify safe alternatives, and ensure clinical services remain safe and uninterrupted.
  • Drive initiatives to standardise, optimise, and rationalise consumables and products — improving equity, efficiency, and value across regions.
  • Support procurement and capital projects by contributing clinical product expertise, specifications, and evaluations.

Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.

About you

You're a confident communicator and problem solver with a solid understanding of healthcare systems and clinical products. You enjoy working across both clinical and commercial spaces, balancing safety and service needs with efficiency and value.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or at least 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and stakeholder engagement.
  • The ability to work with initiative and adapt in a dynamic, complex environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; health sector experience an advantage.
  • A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to advancing equity in healthcare.
