A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse to lead a Psychogeriatric Aged Care Unit in Whangarei. This role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with some on-call responsibilities, providing an excellent work-life balance. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of patient care, team management, and ensuring compliance with health standards. The ideal candidate will have mental health experience, a current APC, and skills in clinical assessments and resource management.

About the Role
Lead the team by managing a Psychogeriatric Unit (PGU), providing specialised care. This dynamic role involves full oversight of the PGU, including staff leadership, resource management, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing and clinical care. You will also be the key liaison person with Te Whatu Ora, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support resident wellbeing and service excellence.

Experience Required
* Senior Registered Nurse with mental health experience preferably in the Aged Care sector
* Current APC
* Working knowledge of the Mental Health Compulsory Assessment and Treatment Act 1992
* InterRai training and experience in assessing cognitive function and behavioural changes.
* Proficiency in clinical administrative software system, electronic health records and general IT tools
