Casual Position to Cover Sick and Annual Leave

About the Role

Are you looking to contribute to the community in a meaningful way? Join our dedicated and hardworking team to help maintain our facilities and provide a suitable environment for our tūro (patients) and whānau (families).

You will be part of a small, fast-paced team that plays an essential role in maintaining Reefton Health Centre. The team provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year.

Salary

Starting from $27.80 per hour, based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities
  1. Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, public areas, and lavatories.
  2. Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes.
  3. Operating and maintaining equipment safely around tūro (patients) and whānau (families).
  4. Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols.
About You

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and flexible candidate who is passionate about cleaning. This role is ideal for someone who wants to help make the hospital a hygienic and safe space for our tūro and whānau.

  • Full driver’s license is essential.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
  • High level of patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow health and safety procedures.
  • Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health, is preferred but not essential.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Time and a half on weekends; double time on public holidays.
