Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand, is seeking an entry-level Vehicle Detailer to keep our fleet in top condition. You will clean and inspect vehicles, note any damages, and help maintain accurate fuel and mileage data using our handheld devices.

This 40-hour-per-week role offers full training, a friendly culture, and uniform provision. Applicants should be prepared for outdoor work in varying weather and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid Class 1 driver''s licence is essential.
• Previous hands-on or physical labour experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to follow procedures and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean the interior and exterior of returned vehicles (wash, vacuum, detail).
• Assess vehicle for potential new damages and report per damage procedure.
• Record gas levels, kilometres, and other data into handheld devices.
• Refuel tanks and check fluid levels, tyre conditions, pressure and tread depth.

About the Role

• Preparing the interior and exterior of our vehicles by cleaning, washing, and vacuuming all returned vehicles
• Assessing vehicle for any potential new damages and report it as per our vehicle damage procedure.
• Reviewing returned vehicle gas levels and car kilometres and accurately inputting them into our hand-held devices as required
• Refuelling tanks, checking fluid levels and tyre conditions along with pressure and tread depth

What we are looking for

• Full , clean, valid class 1 driver's licence is essential for this role
• Previous experience in a hands-on or physical labouring role
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather conditions delivering a high standard of work
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards

As we operate 7 days a week from 8 am to 6:30 pm you will be required to work 40 hours per week during our operating hours which may include early mornings, evenings, full weekends and public holidays as required.
