Job summary

Merrilands School in the Taranaki region invites three energetic classroom teachers to join our collaborative team in 2027. Full-time, permanent roles across Year 1–2, 3–4, and 5–6 with opportunities to shape teaching practice in a collaborative team.

We emphasise hands-on, curriculum-linked learning and Makerspace approaches; leadership opportunities include Year 3–4 team leader and sports coordinator roles for the right candidate. Please indicate your preferred year band in your application.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher with NZ teacher registration.
• Experience in primary to intermediate settings preferred.
• Ability to deliver curriculum-linked learning and hands-on activities.

Are you a passionate educator who loves getting hands‑on with learning? At Merrilands School, we believe education happens both inside and outside the classroom. From engaging, curriculum‑linked classroom learning to innovative, hands‑on approaches—like utilising a Makerspace philosophy (no prior experience needed, just the right attitude), we empower our students to learn by doing.
