Job summary

Mount Maunganui Primary School in Bay of Plenty seeks an experienced Classroom Teacher for a fixed-term maternity leave role from 28 January 2027 to 16 December 2027. The successful applicant will teach across Years 1-8, integrating learning through inquiry and the wider curriculum with authentic, engaging experiences.

You will work in a supportive team, build strong relationships with learners and whānau, and contribute to student agency through formative assessment and growth-minded practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach across Primary and intermediate (Years 1-8) as part of integrated inquiry learning.
• Deliver the New Zealand curriculum with strong literacy, numeracy and assessment practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families and the community to support student agency and wellbeing.
