Job summary

A Wellington primary school is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative classroom teacher for a fixed-term position from January 28, 2026, to January 27, 2027. The ideal candidate will hold New Zealand teaching certification and embody the school’s vision, values, and practices. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will depend on qualifications and experience.

Our teacher has won a study award, and we are looking for someone to join our team for 2026. We are considering the suitability of applicants to teach anywhere in our school from Y2-6. Relevant skills and attributes, and the organisation of the school, will inform the year level offer.

The appointment timeline is as follows:

  • Shortlisted candidates advised: Friday 17th October
  • Interviews: Week of 20th October and 27th October
  • Successful candidates advised: Monday 3rd November
  • Position starts: 28th January 2026, through to 27th January 2027
