Takapuna Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of classics to join our supportive and successful social sciences faculty from the start of term 1, 28 January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Position

Classics teacher — Full time, Permanent

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher • Social sciences

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Classics teaching to students in Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, with consideration for NCEA and IB pathways.
• Maintain high expectations for student progress and provide a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular or co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with the Social Sciences faculty; indicate any additional teaching subjects in your application.
• Potential to take on leadership responsibilities or grow professionally with strong mentoring and support.

Qualifications and attributes

• Passion for classics and ability to inspire students.
