Visy in Timaru invites applications for multiple Class 5 Driver positions within our Logistics Intermodal Team. You are part of a team where your contributions are valued and your career can grow, not just a driver.

Roles include operating Class 5 container trucks, with occasional regional trips across Timaru metro and ports. You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain records, and comply with Fatigue Management and load restraint rules while delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

• Valid Clean Class 5 Licence required.
• Experience operating Class 5 skeletal trailer trucks is desirable.
• Experience with container trailers or similar is highly desirable.
• Strong safety, time management and teamwork mindset.

Responsabilités

• Operate a Class 5 Container Truck, Single or Double Truck & Trailer for freight pickup and delivery.
• Build friendly relationships with customers and provide reliable service.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
• Complete electronic reporting and required documentation accurately.
• Follow Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility laws and load restraint guidelines.

The Opportunity:

We have multiple Class 5 Drivers position available within our Visy Logistics Intermodal Team. With Visy you're NOT just a driver. You are part of a team where your contributions are valued, and your career can grow.

Routes:

Timaru Ports and Metro Timaru area with occasional regional trips.

Hours:

Minimum 40 hours per week, full-time permanent positions working on our AM shift (5am start).

What you'll do:

• Operate a Class 5 Container Truck, Single or Double Truck & Trailer combination for timely and efficient freight pick-up and delivery.
• Build strong relationships with our customers with a friendly service.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and compliant.
• Accurately complete electronic reporting systems and other required documentation.
• Comply with all company/site policies and state and national transport regulations, including Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility laws.
• Adhere to all load restraint guidelines to ensure freight is securely transported.

What you will bring to the team:

• A valid Clean Class 5 Licence.
• Prior experience operating Class 5 Skeletal Trailer Truck, transporting containers is desirable.
• Experience with Side Curtain, Swinglift, Truck & Trailer and Container Trailers or combi lifts is highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of the Canterbury Region, Timaru Metro area and Ports.
• Excellent communication, time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• A comprehensive understanding of road, fatigue, and load restraint laws.
• Pride in the presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
