Horizons in Palmerston North is seeking skilled and reliable drivers for a full-time position based in the region. The role involves completing scheduled runs across Palmerston North, New Plymouth and Auckland, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

You will operate Class 5 vehicles, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain safe, compliant driving. The position requires being able to reverse a truck and trailer and meeting delivery deadlines with clear communication to dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
• Minimum 1 year of truck driving experience.
• Able to work early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours.
• Physical fitness to manage securing loads and deliveries.
• Successful completion of pre-employment checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operating Class 5 vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance.
• Adhering to road safety regulations and company policies.
• Accurately completing delivery paperwork and logs.
• Maintaining communication with dispatch for updates and instructions.
• Reversing truck and trailer combinations safely in varied environments.
• Handling and securing loads to prevent damage during transport.
