You will haul timber from forest blocks to mills and ports across Northland, working on forestry roads and port facilities. Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License or ability to obtain one within 3 months.
• Experience operating vehicles with different transmissions.
• Able to operate heavy machinery.
• Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks.
• Clean driving record and strong focus on road safety.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and criminal record check.
• Willing to work varied shifts including early mornings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-duty log trucks to transport timber from logging sites to designated port facilities.
• Navigate forestry roads and public highways under varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Oversee loading and securing of logs to ensure stability during transport.
• Coordinate with loading machinery operators at forest sites and ports for efficient transfer.
• Follow road transport, forestry safety, and port protocols at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to meet safety standards.
• Report mechanical faults or safety concerns promptly to fleet maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of log weights, trip sheets, fuel use, and time logs.
• Ensure paperwork for each load delivered to the port is complete.
• Communicate with dispatch, port authorities, and supervisors for timely deliveries.
