Job summary

SouthRoads in Balclutha is seeking an experienced Class 5 driver to join a small, tight-knit crew. You will move plant, machinery and materials between sites, supporting a fast-paced civil construction environment.

Expect early starts, outdoor work in all weather, and a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. Travelling to different sites around the Otago region is required.

Qualifications

• Full Class 5 driver's licence required.
• Hands-on experience driving Class 5 vehicles in civil construction, transport, or similar.
• Reliable, safety-conscious approach to daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive for the crew out of Balclutha, moving plant, machinery and materials between sites.
• Keep crew supplied to maintain workflow and movement of tasks.
• Work early starts, outdoors in all weather, Monday to Friday.

We need someone who already knows their way around a Class 5 vehicle- here's what the role actually looks like.

You'll be driving for our crew out of Balclutha— moving plant, machinery and materials between sites, keeping the crew supplied and the job moving. Early starts. Physical days. Working outdoors in whatever the weather throws at you. Mon-Fri.

What you will bring

• A full Class 5 driver's licence — non-negotiable
• Real, hands-on experience driving Class 5 vehicles, ideally in civil construction, transport, or a similar heavy vehicle environment
• A steady, sensible approach to the job — this isn't about flashy driving, it's about doing it right, every time
• The ability to turn up on time, do the work, and pitch in as part of a small crew
• A proactive attitude to health and safety — no shortcuts
• Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions, and travelling to different sites around the region
