Job summary

InterGroup Auckland is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our Waste team. You will operate a range of heavy vehicles across sites, including curtainsiders, tippers, truck and trailer units and vacuum trucks, supporting varied jobs as needed.

You’ll be responsible for your vehicle, assist with loading and unloading, perform pre-start checks, complete paperwork and work with the Waste team to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• A current Class 5 driver's licence.
• Proven Class 5 driving experience.
• Experience with heavy combination vehicles.
• Physically fit and hands-on when required.
• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to working safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 5 & Class 4 vehicles including curtainsiders, tippers, truck & trailer units and vacuum trucks.
• Transport waste and materials between sites.
• Loading and unloading as required.
• Complete pre-starts, vehicle checks and basic equipment checks.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete relevant paperwork and job records.
• Work with the wider Waste team to complete jobs efficiently.
• Keep vehicles clean, tidy and in good working order.

CLASS 5 DRIVER - AUCKLAND

DRIVE MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF TRUCK.

We're looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our Auckland Waste team.

You'll operate a range of heavy vehicles across our waste operations, including curtainsiders, tippers, truck and trailer units and vacuum trucks. The work is varied, with different vehicles and jobs depending on what's happening across the operation.

This is more than simply getting from A to B. You'll be responsible for your vehicle, helping with loading and unloading where required, completing checks and supporting the wider team to get the job done safely and efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Operating Class 5 & Class 4 vehicles including curtainsiders, tippers, truck and trailer units and vacuum trucks

• Transporting waste and materials between sites

• Loading and unloading as required

• Completing pre-starts, vehicle checks and basic equipment checks

• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely

• Completing relevant paperwork and job records

• Working with the wider Waste team to complete jobs efficiently

• Keeping vehicles clean, tidy and in good working order

• Working safely and following site and environmental requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A current Class 5 driver's licence

• Proven Class 5 driving experience

• Experience with heavy combination vehicles

• A reliable and responsible approach to work

• Good understanding of heavy vehicle safety and load security

• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work when required

Experience with vacuum trucks, waste, transport, civil or industrial operations would be advantageous.
