About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gantry Crane Truck Driver to join our team. This position requires a reliable and safety-conscious driver with a Class 4 license (minimum) and extensive experience in manual driving with Road Ranger gearboxes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a gantry crane truck to transport and deliver heavy equipment and materials to designated sites.
  • Perform crane operations to load and unload cargo, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Navigate through various terrain, urban areas, and construction sites while adhering to traffic regulations and company safety standards.
  • Manage a manual transmission truck, demonstrating proficiency with Road Ranger gearboxes to ensure smooth operation.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and regular maintenance checks on the truck and crane to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and any incidents or delays.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and site personnel to coordinate delivery times and troubleshoot any issues on the road or job site.
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly for transport and complies with weight limits and safety guidelines.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and relevant road laws to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Class 4 Driver's License (required).
  • Extensive experience with manual driving (must be highly skilled with Road Ranger gearboxes).
  • Proven experience in operating a gantry crane truck, with a solid understanding of crane operations and load handling.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, driving best practices, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to handle heavy and oversized loads with precision and care.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road and at the job site.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Previous experience in the construction or heavy machinery transport industry.
  • Current WTR Endorsements preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with GPS, route planning software, or dispatch communication systems.
