Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island is hiring a Class 5 Driver for the Hornby Distribution Centre in Christchurch. This fixed-term, part-time role delivers dry goods to stores across Christchurch, 30 hours a week Friday to Sunday, with shifts 3:30am–2:00pm.

Job description

As a Class 5 Driver, you’ll deliverdry goods to stores across Christchurch – on time and in perfect condition. Based out of our Hornby Distribution Centre, you’ll be part of a team that keeps our shelves stocked and our supply chain running smoothly. In this role, you’ll:

• Drive a truck and trailer to complete scheduled delivery runs
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and logs
• Assist with loading and unloading when required
• Represent our team professionally while out on the road
• Follow Health and Safety procedures to keep yourself and others safe
• Meet daily delivery targets and contribute to feeding the South Island

This is a fixed-term, part-time role from December to February, working 30 hours per week across Friday to Sunday, with shifts from 3:30am to 2:00pm.

About you:

You’ll be behind the wheel or on your feet for most of your shift, so being physically fit and safety-conscious is key. If you’re confident driving a truck and trailer and meet the requirements below, we’d love to hear from you:

• A valid Class 4 or5 licence
• F/OSH endorsement and DG certification
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to get stuck into the work
• Able to work independently while being part of a wider team
• Committed to keeping yourself and others safe by following our Health & Safety guidelines
• Able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
