Job summary

Your People Recruitment is seeking a reliable Truck Driver/Operator for an established Dunedin business delivering specialist liquid waste, vacuum and environmental services across Otago. You’ll drive heavy vehicles, operate specialist equipment and work across residential, commercial and industrial sites.

We provide training, a hands-on role with variety, and opportunities to develop specialist skills. You must be entitled to live and work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum Class 2 licence; Class 4 advantageous.
• Previous heavy vehicle driving experience is required.
• Safe and responsible driving approach essential.
• Practical and mechanically minded with hands-on capability.
• Comfortable working outdoors and getting hands dirty.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills are important.
• Experience in civil construction, drainage, wastewater or related fields is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive heavy vehicles and operate specialist equipment.
• Work across residential, commercial and industrial sites in Otago.
• Be reliable, safety-conscious and maintain vehicle standards.
• Engage with clients and provide good customer service.
• Learn and apply new skills in vacuum and liquid waste operations.

Job description

We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Truck Driver / Operator to join an established Dunedin business providing specialist liquid waste, vacuum and environmental services throughout Otago.

This is a varied, practical role where you'll be driving heavy vehicles, operating specialist equipment and working across residential, commercial and industrial sites.

No vacuum truck experience? No problem. Our client will provide the training -we're looking for someone with the right attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

• Minimum Class 2 licence – Class 4 advantageous
• Previous heavy vehicle driving experience
• A safe and responsible approach to driving
• Practical and mechanically minded
• Comfortable working outdoors and getting your hands dirty
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
• Good communication and customer service skills

Experience in civil construction, drainage, wastewater, waste management, tanker driving, water carts, hydro excavation or truck & dog operations would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
