Job summary

Tompkins Wake is seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor or Senior Solicitor in Hamilton or Auckland with flexible and hybrid working options. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced Partners and Special Counsel on a broad range of civil disputes across New Zealand.

You'll handle pleadings, court appearances, strategic advice, and client relations while collaborating with Partners and senior lawyers to deliver quality outcomes, with increasing responsibility as you progress.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years' PQE in civil litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound analytical ability and developing commercial judgement.
• Experience supporting or managing litigation matters.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm to learn.
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drafting pleadings, affidavits and submissions.
• Assisting with strategic advice across a range of disputes.
• Court appearances (commensurate with your experience).
• Working closely with Partners, senior lawyers and barristers on complex matters.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm.
• Building trusted client relationships.
