Job summary

Enviroworks Ltd in Whangārei seeks an Excavator Operator to safely and efficiently operate excavators and heavy machinery across civil, drainage and underground utility projects. This hands-on role supports the wider civil crew to complete projects safely, accurately and on time.

You will read plans and drawings, perform daily pre-start checks, assist with installation and maintenance of underground infrastructure, and keep equipment in a clean, safe and ready-to-work condition for the crew.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavators in a civil construction environment.
• Experience with drainage, sewer, stormwater or underground utility work is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and site instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate excavators and heavy machinery.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, backfilling, loading and general civil works.
• Undertake drainage and underground service excavations to required levels and specifications.
• Work around underground services and follow plans, drawings and site instructions.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of sewer, stormwater and other underground infrastructure.
• Collaborate with drainlayers, drill crews, labourers and site supervisors.
• Perform daily pre-start checks and identify mechanical or safety issues.
• Maintain machinery in a clean, safe and operational condition.
