Job summary

Beca Limited in Hastings is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll work across three-waters, transportation, and land and site development projects, with the chance to take ownership and shape your professional growth.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in a consulting or construction environment for infrastructure projects.
• A qualification in Civil Engineering and working towards Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineering New Zealand.
• Experience in general civil design and construction observation of three-waters and/or road and transport projects.
• Experience using modelling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ORD, or 12d.
• Contributes positively to team success and mentors junior team members.
• Familiarity with local council standards and codes of practice.
• Experience supporting asset management, maintenance, or renewals projects would be highly regarded.
• Positive, can-do attitude and collaborative approach to working with others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting client needs and expectations.
• Communicate proactively with team members, managers and clients on project progress and deliverables.
• Contribute to projects from conceptual design through to detailed design, procurement and construction.
• Continuously develop technical capability, engineering judgment, design expertise and understanding of new technologies.
• Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, networking and consulting skills.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships that contribute to ongoing and repeat business.
