Job summary

Canstaff seeks a Civil Engineer to lead site-based delivery of projects from start to finish. You will report to the Project Manager and drive technical, quality and engineering aspects to ensure timely, budget-friendly completion to high standards.

Responsibilities include supervising construction activities, interpreting designs, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years in civil engineering site role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and supervise construction activities.
• Interpret and implement designs and specifications to meet standards.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing;

• Manage the day-to-day site operations, including supervising construction activities, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that may arise
• Interpret and implement engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure the project is delivered to the required standards
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities and resolve any concerns
• Conduct site inspections, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and technical documentation as required
• Contribute to the development and implementation of project management plans and procedures
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations

What we're looking for;

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar civil engineering site role
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
