This evolution led to their move into a dedicated office, workshop, and yard in Mount Maunganui—a milestone that set them on a path of continued success. Today, they own an extensive fleet of vehicles and construction machinery and employ a skilled, dedicated team.

We are thrilled to partner in the search for an experienced Civil Drainlayer Foreman to join an exceptional team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of dynamic and impactful projects across the Bay of Plenty.

Mo te māhi - About the role:

  • Lead and implement Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all team members
  • Conduct detailed daily prestart meetings to communicate tasks, expectations, and safety protocols
  • Oversee and participate in civil and commercial projects, including earthworks, water main installation, services, and roading
  • Operate machinery competently and support the team with hands-on work when required
  • Utilise extensive knowledge of land development projects, particularly subdivisions, to ensure quality outcomes
  • Maintain accurate daily job records including staffing levels, incidents, site progress, and any delays
  • Approach work methodically, with strong attention to detail, and follow established systems and processes
  • Communicate effectively with all team members, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Liaise closely with Site Supervisors to manage priorities, maintain programme timelines, ensure material supply, and resolve any on-site issues
Mo koe - About you:
  • Must be a qualified and registered or certified drainlayer
  • Experience in residential and commercial drainage installation and maintenance
  • Background in earthworks and civil projects, including subdivisions and land development
  • Have proven project management and coordination skills
  • Experience with new housing drainage, infrastructure, earthworks, water main installation, services, and roading
  • Operating machinery and working within a team environment
  • Leading by example and fostering strong team dynamics
  • Liaising with project managers and site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in civil and/or commercial drainage
  • At least 3 years of recent experience working on subdivisions or large commercial projects
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices on-site
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to efficiently address project challenges
  • Must have a clean criminal record and successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
