Overview

In this 2IC / Senior level position, you will be expected to deliver subdivisions, commercial and industrial buildings, rural earthworks, and drainage services, including three waters. Joining this high performing tier 2 civil contractor will have you managing the project management team of four and ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and meeting high quality, HSE standards. Projects are valued up to $10 mill.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Lead and mentor project managers and site leadership in all areas of construction, including delivery, quality and health and safety.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to tendering, pricing and winning new work.

About the person I am looking for

• Proven NZ experience as a civil Construction Manager or as a Senior Project Manager in civil construction, ideally having managed a team of Project Managers.
• Experience developing and mentoring project leaders and site leaders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - relatable, proactive and approachable.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, processes and relevant legislation and regulations.
• Proficient in the use of construction management software and tools.
• Commercial skills with the ability to price and lead projects.

The salary on offer is circa $150 - $170k per annum + vehicle + medical insurance, depending on the skills and experience brought to the table.

Joining this Small to Medium-sized company will allow you to put the delivery of projects and your team first, it's not corporate and don't expect to spend much time in the office.
