Job summary

Higgins Wellington is seeking a motivated Class 4 Driver to join our team in Wellington. This hands-on role involves safe transport of materials and equipment while supporting crews on infrastructure projects across the Wellington region.

As a reliable team player, you will operate heavy vehicles safely, perform daily checks, and help with site activities. A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential, with WTR endorsements preferred.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Class 2/4 Driver Licence is essential.
• Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in civil/construction environments.
• WTR endorsements required.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow directions.
• Flexibility to work additional hours including weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 2/4 trucks on civil construction, drainage and maintenance projects.
• Transport aggregates, asphalt, materials and equipment to sites.
• Complete daily pre-start checks and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Support site crews with labouring and operational tasks.
• Ensure loads are secured and NSW regulations followed; maintain records.
• Communicate with supervisors, site teams and dispatch staff.
• Uphold Higgins safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with the wider team to meet project goals.
• Assist with traffic management and site activities when required.
