Job summary

Ngāti Hine Health Trust in Kawakawa, North Island, seeks a Chief Technology & Digital Officer to lead technology, digital, data, cyber security, AI and innovation. You will shape the organisation’s digital journey, partner with Te Tai Tokerau communities and embed kaupapa Māori approaches while driving enterprise-wide transformation.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong governance, and the ability to translate complex ideas into practical improvements for whānau wellbeing and health

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in technology, digital, data, innovation or transformation portfolios.
• Proven track record leading enterprise-wide transformation and organisational change.
• Experience establishing modern data, digital and technology capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of cyber security, governance, privacy and risk management.
• Experience leveraging AI, automation and emerging technologies for practical outcomes.
• Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with executive teams and governance groups.
• Strong commercial, strategic and people leadership capability.

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Technology & Digital Officer (CTDO) to join our leadership team and shape the next chapter of Ngāti Hine Health Trust's digital journey.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director Enabling & Corporate Services, you will lead the Trust's technology, digital, data, cybersecurity, AI and innovation strategy and transform initiatives.

Working across our health, social and community services, you will help create a connected, future-focused organisation capable of delivering better outcomes for whānau through trusted information, modern technology and evidence-based decision making.

Key focus areas include:

• Strengthening data capability and insights to improve outcomes for whānau
• Advancing Māori data sovereignty and information stewardship
• Driving responsible AI and automation initiatives
• Enhancing cyber security, privacy and organisational resilience
• Modernising digital platforms, infrastructure and enterprise systems
• Building organisational capability and digital confidence across the Trust
• Developing strategic partnerships that enable innovation and growth

About You

You are a strategic leader who understands that technology is ultimately about people.

You are equally comfortable discussing organisational strategy with the Executive Leadership Team & Board as you are engaging with operational leaders and kaimahi to understand the realities of service delivery on the ground.

You bring:

Previous experience within healthcare, social services, public sector, iwi organisations or kaupapa Māori environments will be highly regarded.
