Overview

About Esko
At Esko Safety, we’re serious about protecting people. As a leading supplier of specialist safety equipment across New Zealand, we pride ourselves on our brand, our service, and our values-driven team. We are on a journey to become an investment-grade business by 2028, and we’re embedding the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to get there.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to act as Integrator, driving execution across the business. With a strong commercial and sales background, you’ll own delivery of the P&L, align all functions, and ensure strategy translates into measurable outcomes.

You’ll oversee Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, and manage the company-wide profit share program (GBS). You’ll mentor and develop our Sales Manager (with a pathway to Head of Sales & Marketing), and ensure every part of the business is focusing on the one strategic number.

What you’ll bring
  • Proven senior leadership experience with a strong commercial/sales background
  • Track record of delivering P&L outcomes and driving business growth
  • Strong knowledge of operations, finance, and systems leadership
  • Experience in wholesale, distribution, apparel, PPE, or related industries
  • EOS/Integrator experience (desirable)
  • Collaborative, strategic, and committed to building strong teams

This is a unique opportunity to join a values-led business on an exciting growth journey, and to play a pivotal role in shaping its future.
