Job description

Are you looking to join a Kiwi-owned, high-growth B2B innovator on its mission to build a $1 billion global enterprise? Are you brave, optimistic, and agile, wanting to drive a challenger brand through an extraordinary trajectory?

We are partnering with an ambitious technology and hardware disruptor to find their next Chief Financial Officer. If you are ready to eliminate status-quo inefficiencies and lead the global financial scaling of a category-defining ecosystem, this is your opportunity.

The opportunity

We are seeking a high-calibre Chief Financial Officer to serve as strategic co-pilot, commercial architect, and growth catalyst for global expansion.

As the primary financial growth driver, you will guide a successful Kiwi business targeting a $1B enterprise valuation across Australasia, North America, and emerging international markets. Moving beyond traditional reporting, you will deploy capital, evaluate global expansion opportunities, and optimise unit economics across Hardware, SaaS, and High-margin consumables to maximise EBITDA and accelerate revenue scale.

About the business

A high-growth, highly profitable Kiwi-owned, B2B hardware and SaaS industry disruptor that is re-engineering how heavy-asset and uptime-critical industries operate. Moving away from legacy industrial models, they empower asset owners, fleet managers, and field technicians to take total control of operational downtime through an integrated, self-service technological ecosystem.

Financially secure and backed by strong market demand, the business is rapidly scaling across key international jurisdictions. With active operational hubs in New Zealand, Australia, and currently validating GTM options in the United States, and other opportunities across other target growth markets in Latin America and Africa.

Three core pillars drive their high-margin, highly defensible business model:

  • Hardware (mobile field units): Custom-engineered on-site units that put instant execution directly into the hands of operators.
  • Software (proprietary SaaS platform): An indispensable digital platform and system of record tracking asset health, job workflows, and automated replenishment.
  • High-margin consumables: A highly predictable pull-through stream of premium technical consumables generating system-driven repeat demand.
What you’ll do
  • Commercial growth & strategy: Partner closely with the CEO and Board to evaluate international markets, support sales execution, drive product innovation economics, and maximise EBITDA.
  • Global market expansion: Structure multi-entity, multi-currency financial operations across NZ, Australia, North America, and emerging international jurisdictions.
  • Tri-pillar unit economics: Optimise commercial performance across mobile hardware unit deployments, SaaS platform subscription metrics (ARR, NDRR), and high-margin recurring consumable sales.
  • Funding partner alignment: Manage financial visibility, working capital, and capital allocation strategy alongside growth funding partners to accelerate global enterprise scale.
  • Systems & governance scaling: Modernise financial systems and forecasting tools to support rapid trajectory without adding unnecessary corporate bureaucracy.
  • Data & AI acceleration: Champion AI tools and structured data platforms for automated lead qualification, predictive margin insights, and global supply chain replenishment.
Who you are

You’ve scaled, and you’ve scaled fast. Maybe you’ve helped shape the financial roadmap of a unicorn? Worked in high-growth, PE-backed firms? One thing you do need to be is pragmatic, innovative, low ego and a commercial growth partner who has been there and done it.

It is essential that you bring:

  • Senior financial leadership experience (CFO or VP Finance) in fast-scaling B2B technology, hardware/software, or complex multi-entity distribution businesses.
  • A proven track record of driving rapid scale, international expansion, and EBITDA growth across Australasia and global export markets.
  • Experience in capital allocation, working capital optimisation, and managing multi-currency operations across cross-border jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid unit economics, bridging hardware sales/rentals, SaaS subscription models, and recurring inventory supply chains.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable systems, ERP platforms and automated financial reporting.
  • Experience in fast-paced founder-led or investor-backed environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data insights, AI integration, and regulatory compliance is also a plus.
Why join?

This isn’t just another job; it’s a chance to drive a category-defining Kiwi innovation success story into a $1 billion global titan.

  • Make a real impact: Directly steer global market entry, capital deployment, and enterprise value creation as part of an elite executive team.
  • Join an expert team: You will be surrounded by a brave, optimistic, and agile team of leaders and founders dedicated to disrupting a legacy global market.
  • Grow with the company: Realise extraordinary personal and professional upside through executive growth bonuses aligned with rapid global scaling.
The Full Package
  • Competitive Salary: Executive Base Salary + Performance Incentives.
  • Great Benefits: Comprehensive health, well-being, long term incentive and executive benefits package.
  • The Right Tools: Full backing to deploy state-of-the‑art tech, AI, and financial infrastructure.
