We are part of a vibrant community and offer an outstanding educational programme, enriched by a range of co-curricular opportunities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic science teacher to join our collaborative department for the 2027 school year. The successful applicant will have high expectations for ākonga and be keen to help shape the development of the department.

You will teach an engaging, hands‑on science programme across Years 9–13, where investigation, discovery and making sense of the world are at the heart of learning. With excellent facilities, we aim to make science active, challenging and enjoyable for all ākonga.

At senior level, you will teach chemistry at Levels 2 and 3, with opportunities to support students working towards scholarship chemistry. The ability to teach science at Years 9-11 is also required. Please state any additional areas of specialism.

At Ōrewa College, we have a strong focus on professional growth, including a developing school‑wide approach to instructional coaching, where teachers work alongside colleagues to strengthen practice and improve outcomes for ākonga.

Our full‑immersion te reo Māori programme, Te Whānau Taipari, continues to grow. We are committed to ensuring this kaupapa holds an important and visible place within the College, and expect all staff to positively advocate for its ongoing development.

We value staff who want to be part of the wider life of the college and who recognise the important role that sport, arts, culture, leadership and other co‑curricular opportunities play in building a strong school community. Commitment to our school values, Manaaki Ōrewa, and our teaching and learning philosophy, Ako Ōrewa, is expected.
