Job summary

A prestigious hotel in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to prepare and cook a la carte dishes. Responsibilities include assisting with the breakfast buffet and functions, as well as collaborating with senior chefs to design menus. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience and strong knowledge of modern and classical cooking techniques. Crowne Plaza Christchurch is located in the heart of downtown Christchurch, right opposite Victoria Square and just a short walk from major attractions, including the Avon River, Town Hall, Art Gallery, Te Pae Conference Centre and the modern dining and shopping precincts.

Our Kitchen department is the heart and centre of the hotel, and you could be joining this great team as aChef de Partiewith us!

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Prepare and cook a la carte dishes for our restaurant, bar, and in-room dining
  • Assist with breakfast buffet, functions and events preparation
  • Work with our Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to design menus
  • Train and coach chefs and kitchen stewards
  • Work in a safe and clean environment in accordance with HACCAP

What we need from you

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Chefde Partie
  • Hotel Experience preferred
  • Strong Knowledge of a la carte and banquet service with modern and classical cooking techniques
  • Problem solving, reasoning and training abilities.
  • Ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties.
