What You'll Do and Your Responsibilities:

  • Preparation, cooking and serving of food for service.
  • Preparation, cooking and serving of staff meals.
  • Ensure all food is served and stored at the correct temperatures and meets Hotel standards, menu specifications and Kitchen guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment, utensils and dishes.
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Follow all sanitation and hygienic food handling procedures set out by legislation and hotel policy.
  • Assisting with any other kitchen duties as required by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role (Desired)
  • A certificate at NZQF Level 4, or higher qualification, in Cookery or equivalent qualification (Desired),
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
