Job summary

Cater Plus is hiring a Catering Assistant for The Hub Café at Waste Management's East Tamaki headquarters in Auckland. This part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 3.00pm, with weekends and public holidays off.

You will join a busy team serving up to 400 staff daily and contributing to a welcoming, high‑quality service. We’re looking for someone energetic with a passion for customer service, good communication, and reliability.

As a Catering Assistant, you'll play a key role in the smooth day-to‑day running of the café. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly and efficient service to customers
• Serving fresh, appetisant café‑style food with pride
• Operating EFTPOS and POS systems confidently
• Assisting with food preparation, kitchen support, and cleaning duties
• Helping with onsite functions and catering events
• Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
• Supporting your team and thriving in a busy environment

What we're looking for:

• A positive, energetic attitude and genuine passion for customer service
• Someone who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team mindset
• A reliable, hardworking approach with the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Previous hospitality or food service experience is advantageous
• Barista experience is preferred but not essential
