Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Tairawhiti in Gisborne is seeking a motivated Storeperson for casual, daytime hours. You will lift and move items, operate a forklift, and work closely with the PSC&HTM team to ensure timely access to supplies for clinical and non-clinical teams.

The role requires a valid driver’s licence, physical fitness, and the ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment. Training and safety are priorities as part of Health New Zealand.

Qualifications

  • Experience in distribution/stock management preferred
  • Current, clean and full driver’s licence required
  • Forklift operators licence preferred
  • Physically fit as lifting is required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be a positive team member
  • Self-motivated with initiative and a sense of humour

  • Lift and move items as required.

About the Role

This position based in Gisborne is available for an enthusiastic person to commence as soon as possible- working casually between Monday to Friday working between the prime hours of 0730-1600. You will need good clerical and numerical competences, great time management and customer service skills. You will need to be able to use your initiative, be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a busy team.

As there will be a requirement to lift and move items, a good standard of physical fitness is required for this role.

As there will be a requirement to operate a forklift, a drivers license with a history of safe driving is required for this role and a forklift license is preferred.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Supply Chain team plays a vital role in ensuring clinical and non-clinical teams have access to the products and equipment they need to provide safe, effective patient care. Working within Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM), you will be part of a supportive team committed to service excellence and continuous improvement.
