Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is seeking a dedicated Cook for our Richmond and Nelson villages. This casual, as-needed role involves preparing nutritious meals in a supportive team environment that prioritises resident wellbeing and dining experience.

You will contribute to safe food handling, follow the Food Control Plan, and collaborate with care teams to deliver high-quality meals, including café options, while flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in healthcare or residential care.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards; certification in safe food handling is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Flexible for casual shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook production meals for the care centre and short order meals for the café based on menus and dietary needs.
• Maintain an audit-ready kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
