About the Role

One New Zealand Stadium is less than a year away from opening and we\'re entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. Venues Ōtautahi is excited to be accepting applications for passionate chefs to join our casual staffing pool.

Based in our production kitchen at Wolfbrook Arena, you will be part of our well organised and highly experienced kitchen team delivering exclusive events from 5 up to 5,000 covers.

Working with excellent local product you\'ll be cooking some of the very best event dishes in New Zealand. The role involves providing support to the culinary execution across all the Venues Ōtautahi events to provide an outstanding, market leading offering.

We are looking for experienced Production Chefs to support the preparation and delivery of high-quality catering across all Venues Ōtautahi function events.

This role involves assisting the senior kitchen team with day-to-day operations of the banqueting and production kitchens, including food preparation, portioning, cooking, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring kitchen areas are well-organized and efficient. The Production Chef plays a key role in delivering a market-leading catering experience and supporting operational excellence across all venues

Venues Ōtautahi attract and host a wide range of events in Christchurch and manage a diverse and iconic portfolio of community venues, including the Christchurch Town Hall, Wolfbrook Arena, Apollo Projects Stadium, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, and One New Zealand Stadium.

The events held across the Venues Ōtautahi portfolio deliver significant social, cultural, and economic benefit to the region and ultimately these iconic city venues play a valued role to the Christchurch way of life and the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region.

About You

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Minimum of 2 years\' experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver to a set standard in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work a mixture of early mornings, weekdays, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to be flexible and able to get to/from our various venues
