The Case Manager Service works across Christchurch City Council and with a wide range of external stakeholders to support the city's development. From navigating approvals and licenses to securing consents, this team plays a pivotal role in enabling successful residential and commercial construction projects that shape the future of our city.

As a
Case Manager, you'll be a proactive connector and champion for Christchurch's development community. You'll seek out opportunities to build strong, productive relationships with developers, property owners, and contractors—helping them navigate Council processes and unlock the potential of their projects.
Equally the relationships you build with internal teams are critical to your success. You will collaborate with them to ensure regulatory objectives—such as public safety and equitable treatment—are met efficiently and effectively.
You'll manage a portfolio of high-impact developments, identifying what needs to be done, activating Council resources, and clearing obstacles. This is a role for someone who thrives on making things happen—someone who's visible in the field, confident in their approach, and passionate about enabling growth.

You'll Bring
- A formal qualification in building or development (e.g., Planning, Architecture, Construction Management) or 5+ years' experience managing development projects and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of the approvals required for commercial and residential projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a business environment.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and build 'business' through relationships.
- Confidence managing complex approval scenarios and navigating regulatory frameworks.

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent full time
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices
Salary -
The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
