Job summary

ALH Christchurch is seeking experienced Carpenters to join the team on projects across Christchurch and Canterbury. You will undertake both structural and finishing carpentry tasks on residential and commercial builds.

Applicants should have at least 2 years' carpentry experience, a solid understanding of the NZ Building Code, and a valid Site Safe Passport. A reliable vehicle and strong work ethic are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ carpentry/construction experience.
• Strong understanding of the NZ Building Code.
• Valid Site Safe Passport and ability to pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Foundations and slab work; timber and steel wall/floor framing.
• House repiling, level checks, and structural repairs.
• Finish carpentry: trim, mouldings, doors, drywall/GIB, and flooring installation.
• Site safety, clean up, and compliance with NZ standards.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Carpenters to join the team immediately.

About the Role

You will be working across Christchurch and wider Canterbury on a variety of residential and commercial construction projects, carrying out both structural and finishing carpentry tasks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Foundations and slab work
• Timber and steel wall/floor framing
• Strip-out and replacement of damaged timber
• Property repairs and reinstatement work
• Installation of trim, mouldings, windows, and finishing carpentry
• Foundation repairs and replacements
• Jacking and packing
• House repiling and re-levelling
• Framing, wrapping, battening, and cladding rooms
• Hanging, repairing, and replacing drywall/GIB
• Flooring installation including timber, carpet, concrete, and other flooring types
• Exterior cladding installation
• Cabinet installation
• Hanging doors
