Job summary

Summerset in Warkworth is seeking a caring Caregiver to join our team and provide daily personal care to residents in our village. This casual, as-needed role focuses on meals, hygiene, mobility and activities to enhance residents’ quality of life.

You’ll need empathy, good communication, and flexibility to cover a variety of shifts, including short notice. Experience in aged care is preferred. Uniform is provided and we offer opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Empathy, kindness and patience essential.
• Strong verbal communication helps build lasting relationships with residents.
• Willingness to be available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Support hygiene and daily personal care tasks.
• Assist with individual care plan requirements, including walks and exercises.
• Support residents with activities and engagement (e.g., puzzles, games).

As a Caregiver at our Warkworth village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
