We are offering an opportunity for you to make a positive impact by supporting a young individual to live freely and independently with their disability.

To do this, it is important that you are committed to providing consistent care but also able to adapt to the changing needs of someone with a physical disability.

Your day will involve supporting the individual with personal care, sleepover, home help, respite, and additional activities including travelling and attending appointments.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be expected to:

• Assist in maintaining personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, etc.)
• Assist with repositioning and transferring (in and out of chair/bed)
• Assist with grooming and dressing
• Assist with physiotherapy
• Assist with meal preparation (cooking, setup, etc.)
• Assist the client when attending appointments or travelling
• Assist with daily activities
• Assist with advocacy and helping the individual maintain their independence and dignity

Requirements

Flexible shift coverage is required, meaning you should be available to fill in for other team members as needed to ensure consistent support.

Non-Essential Requirements

Experience is valuable but not essential. However, it would be ideal if you also had:

• Manual handling and transferring skills
• Physical strength and stamina
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• The ability to empathise and a positive can-do attitude

Pay varies between $23.50/hr to $30.00/hr depending on qualifications and experience.
