Job summary

Rolleston College in Canterbury seeks a part-time Careers Advisor to support Year 7–15 students and whānau, guiding personal pathways and school-wide career programmes.

You will collaborate with teachers and external partners to deliver curriculum, events and guidance activities, helping learners transition to further education or work.

This fixed-term role runs from 28 January 2027 to 16 December 2027, with up to 0.5 FTE committed to developing Year 11 Careers programme.

• Knowledge of Careers Education, information, and guidance.
• Experience supporting learners with pathways and transitions.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, students, whānau and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow school-wide career programmes (curriculum, events and programs).

Due to our growing roll, we are looking for an inspired and passionate person who has excellent knowledge of Careers Education, information and guidance. As part of our Careers team, you will help grow our school-wide career programmes (curriculum, events and programs) and help support and advise learners on their individual pathways. This is a fixed term position due to the development of the Year 11 Careers programme. Teaching and non-teaching staff can apply.

You will form effective professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to support the careers team to deliver planned, progressive learning experiences that help students develop career management competencies and transition successfully through school and into further education or work.
