Job description

Responsible for performing advanced cardiovascular diagnostic procedures and assisting physicians during invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular interventions. Also provides leadership and guidance to junior technologists and ensures the efficient and safe operation of the cardiovascular laboratory.

Essential Functions:
-Perform a wide range of cardiovascular diagnostic procedures, including echocardiography, stress testing, electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), Holter monitoring, and other cardiac tests as required.
-Assist cardiologists and other physicians during invasive procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional cardiac procedures.
-Operate and maintain complex cardiovascular equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
-Accurately record patient information, procedural data, and any adverse events during cardiovascular procedures.
-Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cardiovascular technologists, assisting in their training and professional development.
-Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the cardiovascular laboratory.

Education
Associate's Degree Cardiology required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required and Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Radiologic Technologist [MA] preferred

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist [RCIS] - Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred

Experience
Cardiovascular Technologist Experience 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting cardiovascular equipment and imaging systems.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to effectively lead a team and mentor junior staff members.
