Job summary

Lincoln University is seeking a qualified carpenter with strong maintenance leadership to lead planned and preventative maintenance across its Lincoln campus. You will plan programmes, coordinate capital projects, manage contractors, and ensure facilities stay safe, functional, and fit for purpose for staff, students and visitors.

The role requires significant carpentry experience, budget awareness, stakeholder collaboration, and a proactive health and safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • Trades qualification in carpentry with LBP preferred.
  • Significant carpentry experience and exposure to planned/preventative maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating building maintenance or construction projects.
  • Strong organisational ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Cost-conscious approach to maintenance and project delivery.
  • Excellent relationship‑building with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive commitment to health and safety best practice.
  • Leadership capability and flexibility to adapt to priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planned maintenance and preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Coordinate building‑related projects from scoping to completion.
  • Engage and manage contractors to ensure safe, timely, high-quality work.
  • Monitor project costs, expenditure and maintenance budgets.
  • Support and lead maintenance staff to achieve operations goals.
  • Identify improvements to enhance asset performance and maintenance outcomes.
