About the role
We are seeking a talented Cafe Worker & Sandwich Maker to join our vibrant team at The Coffee Dojo Wanaka. This full-time role is based in our cosy cafe in the heart of Wanaka, Otago, where you will be responsible for preparing delicious sandwiches and serving our customers with exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing a variety of sandwiches, wraps and other cafe-style food items to our high standards
• Operating the cafe's equipment, such as coffee machines and sandwich presses, to deliver consistently great results
• Providing outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere in the cafe
• Operating cash registers and accepting payments
• Ensuring the cafe's food preparation and serving areas are kept clean, tidy and well-stocked at all times
• Assisting the cafe team with other duties as required and covering the barista's breaks on the coffee machine
• End of shift cleaning and monthly cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming cafe environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in a cafe, restaurant or similar food service environment
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude and a good command of English
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Knowledge of food handling and preparation best practices
• Enthusiasm for creating delicious, high-quality food and coffee
• A team player who is willing to pitch in and help wherever needed
• Good basic coffee skills and knowledge would be a plus
